What is the MLAA?
Welcome to our website...
foreword by our CEO

Dear Members and Friends:
Our Association was incorporated in Australia in 1982 when Associations from Australian States and New Zealand joined together to form this international organization.

We now have approximately 1,000 members throughout Australia and New Zealand and in Hong Kong, China, Fiji and New Guinea.

Allan Jones

Although the role of the Association is primarily to provide advice, service and products to locksmith businesses we also welcome as members individual locksmiths, manufacturers and suppliers of locksmithing products, students in locksmithing and other persons employed in relevant areas of the security industry.

The most important products provided to our qualified locksmith business members are high security locking systems to which the Association owns the patent or design registration.

Members must pass independently conducted competency tests before they are admitted at levels that allow them to obtain these high security systems.

Community security is enhanced because keys to these systems cannot be duplicated by non members and each member is prevented by a Code of Ethics, a Code of Conduct, and contractual obligations from duplicating the keys to another member’s system.

The Association is dedicated to ensuring that its members exercise the highest ethical standards and provide a professional level of service to the community. We have established a customer complaints handling process that ensures that any complaints are independently assessed and dealt with on an appropriate basis.

We are proud of our premier position in the locksmithing industry and welcome you to our website.
