Membership of the MLAA is open to suitably qualified locksmithing businesses, individual locksmiths and students training to become locksmiths or other persons with an interest in the security industry.

Business Business Business Member – Master Locksmith\'s have full membership rights and access to all MLAA high security locking and keying systems. The cost per year (July - June) is $500.00 To join the MLAA as a Business Member – Master Locksmith you will need to: be carrying on a locksmithing business have passed, or employ a person who has passed the MLAA’s prescribed Practical and Master Keying competency tests your application is supported and signed by two financial members of the MLAA provide a current Police Name Check hold a current Security Industry Licence or registration as required by the State or Territory in which you operate. provide a current copy of your business registration certificate	Individual Individual To join the MLAA as a Individual Member, you will need to: have successfully completed an approved locksmithing apprenticeship or traineeship or; have passed the MLAA\'s prescribed Practical and Master Keying competency tests provide a current Police Name Check The cost per year (July - June) is $63.00	Trade Trade Trade Membership is available to individuals and/or organisations which are carrying on a business to provide products and/or services to the locksmithing industry or the wider security industry. The cost per year (July - June) is $500.00 (National Trade member) or $250.00 (State Trade member).	Associate Associate Associate Membership is available to individuals and/or organisations which are not operating locksmithing businesses but which have a general interest in locksmithing or the security industry in general. The cost per year (July - June) is $130.00	Student Student To join the MLAA as a Student Member you ill need to be enrolled in an approved locksmithing apprenticeship. The cost per year (July - June) is $40.00	International International To join the MLAA as an International member you will need to: be carrying on a locksmithing business outside Australia and New Zealand have passed the MLAA’s prescribed Practical and/or Master Keying Competency Tests. The cost per year (July - June) is $500.00
