MLAK National Toilet Map App

Sometimes you just have to go!

Compared to other countries the public toilet network in Australia is quite large. With over 16,000+ publicly accessible toilets across the nation, you will find one.

But what about “after hours”? What if they are locked? What about facilities for people with disabilities?

In 1994 the Master Locksmiths Association (MLAA) started a unique project designed to help local councils and private corporations to provide 24/7 access to certain facilities for people with special needs, the MLAK.

Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) systems were installed in many of the 16,000+ toilets, in changing places, at public pools and e.g. playground equipment like the Liberty Swing. (To find a list of all MLAK facilities, please head to our website and click on MLAK)

However, everyone needs to go once in a while and finding a toilet can be a challenge at times, especially when you are traveling and having kids in the background urgently requesting one.

The solution is the Government funded “The Nation Public Toilet Map App”. It may look old fashioned, but it provides you with an up-to-date map of all 16,000+ locations and it is free for Android and Apple devices.
